The color on this one is hard to believe in person. The whole top of the specimen is covered in a rounded, bumpy crust of tiny fluorite crystals in a deep indigo blue, so dark it reads almost navy in shadow and lights up to a bright violet blue where the sun catches an edge. It rises into two peaks with a little valley between them, and near the base one patch of the crust has broken away to show a paler lavender window beneath. The trade calls this bumpy blue fluorite blueberry fluorite, and the name fits.
The base has been cut flat so it sits steady on a shelf, and flipping it over is its own small surprise. The underside shows the pale rock it grew on with the hexagonal outlines of crystal sections running through it, gray green and glassy, a whole second specimen on the bottom.
It is a palm sized piece with real weight to it, and the surface is a joy to run a thumb across.
