Blue halite is one of the rarest colors a salt crystal can take, and this one carries it in deep cobalt streaks that run through clear, glassy crystal like ink dropped into water. Hold it to the light and the blue glows from the inside.
This is natural halite, rock salt, from Turkey. Halite is usually colorless, and blue halite is scarce because the blue has to be made by nature over an enormous stretch of time. Deep in ancient salt beds, natural radiation from the surrounding rock slowly shifts the crystal structure, and those tiny changes catch light as blue. That is why the color sits in bands and zones instead of spreading evenly, deep cobalt in one layer and water clear in the next. You can see it plainly in this piece, rich color through the center and frosted, icy crystal at the edges.
It comes on the clear acrylic display stand in the photographs, three slim metal prongs rising from a clear block, so the crystal is held up in the air where light can pass straight through it.
Blue halite is treasured as a stone of the third eye. It is said to open inner vision and deepen intuition, and to settle the mind gently into meditation. Those who work with it describe it as a doorway to the higher self and to the higher realms, a stone for astral travel, for past life recall, and for reaching the knowledge held in the Akashic Records. It is kept by people who want to sense their place in the universe, to receive guidance through dreams and symbols, and to feel more connected to their guides and angels.
Like all salt, it is also a stone of purification. Blue halite is used to clear heavy energy from a space and from the aura, and to invite peace of mind, calm, and patience. It is said to support new beginnings and breaking old habits, and to help turn spiritual insight into real change, creating your own reality one clear intention at a time.
Place it on a meditation altar, a nightstand for dreamwork, or a desk where you want clarity and a calmer mind.
