This sphere looks like it was carved from the inside of a chocolate truffle. Rich, swirling bands of brown, cream, and caramel wrap around the entire surface in patterns that look almost painted. And then you notice the cavities. Small natural openings where the polishing revealed hidden pockets of druzy crystals and tiny botryoidal formations tucked inside the stone like little secret rooms.

Chocolate calcite forms when calcium carbonate crystallizes with iron and manganese inclusions, which give it those warm, layered tones. When polished into a sphere, the banding wraps around the surface in concentric swirls that look different from every angle. This particular piece has especially dramatic patterning, with dark chocolate bands flowing into lighter cream tones in a way that feels almost fluid, like watching coffee and cream slowly mix.

The druzy cavities are the surprise. Most chocolate calcite spheres are fully polished and smooth.
