This is a Uruguayan agate cut open and stood upright so the cave inside faces you. The outside is soft gray and dove blue in bands, polished smooth, and the cut face opens into a long pointed hollow packed edge to edge with tiny copper brown crystal points. Tilt it under a lamp and the whole cave lights up in a fine sugary sparkle. The back is a darker stone entirely, near black with pale olive green patches scattered over it, so the piece reads as two different stones depending on which way you turn it. It is about 5.25 inches tall and about 3 inches wide, and it weighs 1 pound 7.2 ounces.

It stands on its own, no stand needed, with a flat cut base that holds it steady.
