That stretch of afternoon where the light goes gold and you finally exhale. This tea lives there.
Golden Hour is a caffeine-free herbal blend created for the in-between, after the day's demands but before the evening settles in. Passionflower leaf quiets the noise. Rooibos and honeybush wrap you in warmth. Oat straw steadies. Calendula petals catch the light. Together, they make a cup that feels like sitting on the porch while the sun does something beautiful and you just watch.
The flavor is smooth and honeyed with a warm, earthy sweetness. No bitterness, no sharpness, just a long, gentle exhale in a cup. This is Erin's own creation. The blend she made when she realized nothing on the shelf felt like what she actually needed at 4pm.
THE BLEND
Passionflower leaf is gentle and grounding, the kind of herb that quiets a busy mind without making you sleepy. Rooibos brings a smooth, naturally sweet, caffeine-free warmth that forms the earthy backbone of the whole blend. Honeybush is its sweeter, softer cousin, adding a honey-like depth. Oat straw is mineral-rich and calming, supporting the nervous system with a gentle, grassy sweetness. And calendula brings bright golden petals that add a subtle floral warmth and make this blend as beautiful to look at as it is to drink.
HERB WISDOM
Every herb in this blend was chosen with intention. Here's what makes them special:
Passionflower was first documented by Spanish explorers in Peru in the 1500s, but indigenous peoples of the Americas had been using it for centuries before that. It's one of the most respected calming herbs in Western herbalism, known for its ability to promote relaxation, ease restlessness, and quiet a racing mind without sedation. It's the herb that says "you can stop now" without saying "go to sleep."
Rooibos (red bush) grows only in the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa and has been used by the indigenous Khoisan people for generations. Naturally caffeine-free and rich in antioxidants, rooibos supports healthy aging and provides a smooth, naturally sweet base that needs no sugar. It's one of the few plants that becomes sweeter the longer you steep it.
Honeybush is rooibos's lesser-known cousin, also native to South Africa. It's been used in traditional Cape medicine for centuries and gets its name from the honey-scented flowers of the plant. Naturally sweet and gentle on the stomach, honeybush is known for supporting digestive comfort and adding a warm, comforting depth to any blend.
Oat Straw (Avena sativa) has been used in European folk medicine since the Middle Ages as a nervous system tonic. The origin of the phrase "sowing your wild oats." It's mineral-rich (high in calcium, magnesium, and B vitamins) and traditionally used to support calm focus and emotional resilience. It's the herb equivalent of a steady hand on your shoulder.
Calendula has been used in herbalism for over 1,000 years, from ancient Roman gardens to medieval monastery apothecaries. Known as "the sunshine herb," its golden petals are traditionally associated with warmth, comfort, and gentle healing. In this blend, calendula adds a subtle floral warmth and makes every jar glow with those beautiful golden petals.
PACKAGING
Each blend comes in a reusable glass apothecary jar with a natural cork lid. No plastic. We chose glass intentionally. It keeps your herbs fresher, looks beautiful on your shelf, and gets a second life as a spice jar, propagation vessel, or whatever your heart desires when the tea is gone. This is packaging you'll want to keep.
BREWING
1 tsp per 8oz water · 200°F · Steep 5, 7 minutes
Use a mesh strainer or tea infuser. This blend gets sweeter and more golden the longer it steeps. There's no rush. That's the whole point.
