This one is two stones in one piece. Turn the front toward you and the whole face is crystal, a pale silver gray druzy that runs edge to edge in tiny rounded clusters, with one dark band of near black crystal sweeping across the lower third like a tide line. Turn it around and the back is glossy black agate, polished smooth, broken only by a pale tan patch of rough rock near the middle where the outer skin was left as it came. It is about 4.5 inches tall and about 3.5 inches wide, and it is heavy for its size at 2 pounds 5.4 ounces.
It stands on its own with a flat cut base, no stand needed, and it wants to be somewhere the light moves. Set it on a shelf where a lamp or a window throws light across the face and the whole front lights up in a fine even sparkle. Set it on a desk and turn it black side out when you want the room quieter. That is the trick with this piece, it has a bright side and a dark side and you choose which one the room gets.
Agate is read in crystal lore as the steady stone, grounding and patient, the one people keep near when things feel loud rather than when they want a jolt. Banded agate carries the idea of layers laid down slowly, one over the next, protection built up over time the way the stone itself was built. The druzy face, thousands of small points instead of one large crystal, is taken as that steadiness spread wide and gentle, light scattered evenly rather than focused. And a geode, a closed pocket opened up and found full of crystal, has always been read as the hidden interior made visible. It suits a working desk, a bookshelf, or a windowsill where someone will turn it over now and then.

Specifications

Origin: Uruguay
Size: about 4.5 inches tall and about 3.5 inches wide
Weight: 2 lb 5.4 oz

Please note: this is a natural stone with an open crystal surface across the front. Handle it by the polished black sides rather than the crystal face, and dust it with a soft dry brush rather than a cloth, which will catch on the points. Small chips and uneven crystal along the edges are how these come out of the ground.
