A cluster of big pyrite cubes grown into each other at angles, every face striated with fine parallel lines and polished bright by nature rather than by a wheel.
This is the shape people mean when they say a crystal looks impossible. Pyrite grows in cubes on its own, and here you get several of them, the largest running most of the width of the piece, tilted against each other with dark matrix filling the gaps between. The striations across each face catch light in bands, so the whole thing shifts as you move around it.
About 2.5 inches across and about 2 inches deep, weighing 14.3 ounces. It is a hand sized specimen with real heft for its size.

Put it where light rakes across it rather than hits it straight on. Side light is what makes the striations read, and a lamp to one side or a window across the room will do more for it than a bright ceiling.

It is the one people keep on a desk or near their work, for follow through and for the nerve to back yourself, and it has carried a reputation for drawing in what you are actually building toward. Miners called it fool's gold because it fooled them, which tells you how convincing it is in the hand. Keep it where the work happens.
