This is a hefty raw apophyllite cluster with a personality split right down the middle. The front is covered in chunky cubic crystals that catch the light like a chandelier made out of ice. The back is raw volcanic basalt, dark and textured and still wearing its geological resume on its sleeve. Most crystals get cleaned up before they reach you. This one showed up with its whole backstory attached.

And what a backstory. Apophyllite forms inside the air pockets of cooling volcanic lava, crystallizing slowly from hot mineral-rich water over thousands of years. That dark matrix on the back of this piece? That is the lava. You are literally holding the inside of a bubble that formed in a volcano and decided to grow a crystal garden while it waited. Thousands of years of waiting, and look what it made.

There is a natural concave shape to the crystal face that gives this piece an almost geode-like quality. The crystals nestle into a shallow pocket, concentrating the light and sparkle inward.
